When she was just two, she was the first to appear on television when she was a kid on the Don Mahoney Children's Trooper program. Her mother and she, who had ten years of singing, dancing and dancing in her repertoire, travelled into Los Angeles the entire year in the age group of 13 to test out how she was able to earn a living in the showbiz. In less than two months, she got her first paying job dancing on the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. The actress says "I utilized my education as a dancer and singer in a variety of ways." "The mental discipline gained from it is great for an actor." O'Toole's debut role as a character in My Three Sons was followed by roles in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. She also appeared on Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. The most important thing that O'Toole loves, in spite of her successes in film and on television has been theatre. The time her stint on Smallville concluded, she decided to focus on theater, which she has been doing for the past decade. She went to New York and her first audition was the reason she was included in The Sea Gull. She has appeared in several off-Broadway productions, among them Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
